I thought you might enjoy these few words by Rod
Parsley
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. —Philippians 3:13-14
Many people need to be delivered from the skeletons of their past. "Those things which are behind" may include failed marriages, broken promises, failures, disappointments, setbacks, and betrayals.
You can be standing waist high in ocean water and watch as water begins to ebb quietly away from you-.-.-.-then the force of the wave begins to increase, propelling you forward.
Just as the tide pulls the water back, forming a wave of power, God draws you to Himself.
Don't fight against God's pulling and tugging at your spirit. Allow yourself to be drawn to Him and enveloped in His presence. Trust Him with your very life, and He will propel you forward into your destiny.
Put all of your past behind you. Bury it under His mercy and grace. Refuse to dig it up again or to listen to the old, tired accusations of the devil.
Jesus, give me the
strength to look forward and not look back.
Keep me from dredging up my past sin which You have
already forgiven and forgotten. Keep my
heart fixed on You. Amen.
Keep me from dredging up my past sin which You have
already forgiven and forgotten. Keep my
heart fixed on You. Amen.

Hazel, I love the words in that first image "Some Stories Just JUMP off the Page Straight to My Heart". Sometimes, it just a line, a paragraph, a verse or a whole chapter while at other times, it's an event, a small scene at the mall, church, school or the workplace; all in all, the Lord knows how to reach into our most guarded concerns/secrets/cares/fears, breaking the barriers and filling us up with hope and joy.
God bless you for hosting.
Putting our past behind us and not looking back...seems hard at times, but putting it under his mercy gives us victory to keep moving forward. Such great truth! It is easy to get hung in limbo because of the past. Thank God he knows what is best and is always there for us. cathyzpeek.com
WHY do we do that? Keep digging up what God has buried? I think it shows a lack of faith/trust on our parts. Like we're saying to God, "Yeh, it's forgive. But..."
Great post. Thanks for hosting this lovely link up every week. It's nice to be able to share my blog and see what others are writing!

I love this reminder. I'm not sure why this is so easy for us to do, but thank you for the reminder today that we shouldn't be doing it! ~Heather @ My Overflowing Cup

"Great points Hazel! I confess I am the worst about leaving comments when I read someone's blog. Trying to get better about that! Thanks for hosting the blog hop every week.!!
Have a blessed weekend. In His Enduring Love and Peace; Beckey
