By My Spirit Says the Lord

Our Bible Study each Sunday Morning is taught by Linda and was centered on the Light and Life of Jesus and His Power.  I took notes and present an edited message.

Zechariah 4:6 Then he said to me, "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel saying, 'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' says the LORD of hosts.

The word “Political,” is the complex or aggregation of relationships of people in society, whose relationship involves authority and power.  Jesus ministered with authority and Power.  The Jews were always trying to trick Jesus and test Him.

Matthew 22:34- Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

In the beginning Genesis 1:1-15 God said, “Let there be Light and it was so.”

Jesus was speaking in John 8:12 - - "I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life."

The Light of Life is both Eternal life and the power of the Holy Spirit to work the miraculous.

Paul spoke in Ephesians to be strong in the POWER of His might; and be equipped to be able to deal with the enemy.

 Ephesians 6:10-18  Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.  Put on the whole armor of God taking the Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God and Pray always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

It is important to be grounded in the Word of God, and also to be filled with the Holy Spirit.  Jesus said, “You shall have power after that the Holy Ghost comes.”

Those steeped in the Jewish culture did not understand what Jesus was saying.  It made no sense to them as they held his message up against their teachings.

Jesus spoke about a city on a hill cannot be hid, and that He is the Light of Life and my spirit shall be in you.

Be encouraged and trust in the everlasting arms of our Father God.

Isaiah 51:6 Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.

Revelation flows from God and John spoke in 1 John 5:18 to keep yourself from sin so that the wicked one does not touch you.  Stay away from idols and worship the Lord God only.  Do not be deceived but follow Truth.

John continued, Jesus is alive and we have seen Him, confess him as Lord so that your joy may be full.

The basic old sin nature needs to die on the cross with Jesus and be made new by rising together with Christ to live a new life in Him.

Jesus turned and said now YOU are the light of the world.  Let your light so shine so men may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Jesus did not come to destroy the law but to fulfill the law.  He who the SON sets free IS free indeed.  It is not time to waver back and forth from light to darkness.  Stay in the Light.  It is so simple, and deeper than we usually go in the Word.  Shame comes in the darkness.  The thing is it is really terrible when there is NO shame associated with sin.

The Jews were taken away captives because they left the Light that was given to them.

In the church we must yield to that which is in the Word yet realize not everyone is where we may be in understanding.  Therefore we are not to be in judgment, but we show love by encouraging each believer to walk close to Jesus and to go deeper in Him.  Not in a proud or superior manner, but gently, let your light shine.

Remove the basket covering your light and lift it high setting it on a candlestick.  Take the light of the world that is in you – out to your world.  Others will notice something is different about you and will want what you have.

As you have opportunity do what ever your hand finds to do and do it with all your might, and in the power of the Holy Spirit that is in you.  It matters, so where ever you go, let it show;  In spite of the circumstances.
