The following is a true story of My Salvation Experience!

Time to Come Home !

I had a Plan to Sneak In to Heaven!

Before I gave my heart to Jesus, I had heard much preaching at church about being ready for the return of the Lord Jesus.

The preacher would say, “We do not know the day or the hour when Jesus will come for the saints, so it pays to always be ready.”

The thought of Jesus coming in the clouds scared me just a bit, because at that time I knew I wasn’t ready.

However I had a plan even at my young age, I could have a strategy.

My thought was that if I kept close to my mother, I would grab her leg, and when she went up, I also would be caught up in the clouds along with her.

When I shared my good idea with mother, she told me it probably would not work, since there were times when she might not be near me and who knows - - that might be the very time that Jesus comes back.

Thinking that one through left me no choice but to be ready for myself.  I still wasn’t quite sure how to do this.

That night as I lay in my bed, I said aloud, “Jesus, I am not sure that you are in my heart, so would you please come in to stay and I will serve you all the days of my life.”

That did it!  A peace swept over me and I knew there would not be any worry!  The fear was gone, and was replaced with confidence and a sense of security.  I was safe.

At nine years old, I still had a lot to learn about serving Jesus, but at last I was on my way.

Receiving Jesus was a lot simpler than I had ever imagined.

Thank you Cheryl, I am recovering from a fall. I put it at the end of the e-mail announcement, realizing that most people do not read to the end of the notice that the site is open.

Hazel,

What an awesome testimony and a wise response from your mother! Thank you for providing me with the opportunity to share part of our story as well. It's great to connect with another Christ-follower and story-teller.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas.

Oh Hazel, what a precious story!! I can't remember asking Jesus into my heart, I was only 3 or 4, but my mother tells me it involved wanting to stop sucking my thumb, and wanting Jesus to be my friend. You know, I have to say that those heartfelt decisions made as children are just as meaningful and true as anything. When Jesus is invited in, and the heart means it, He's there to stay!!

You have been a wonderful servant of His, a wonderful witness!

May you and yours have a truly Merry CHRISTmas, and GOD BLESS!
